Jobu’s Rum’s Greatest Hits: Ode to the Basketball Hipster

Ah the red skinny jeans... classic NBA hipster.

While Jobu is on vacation, enjoy one of our greatest hits as Dixie pays homage to a new kind of fashion icon.

Oh NBA players, how I love thee. You’re always so fantastically dressed. Suits, cardigans, scarfs; you accessorize like none other. And oh the glorious colors! You utilize the pinks, the purples, the blues; you never shy away from the traditionally feminine colors. You are arguably the best dressed athletes in the world. Every time you leave the locker room, you appear as if to have walked straight out of a GQ magazine. You are truly the style icons that men should aspire.

Our resident fashion expert, Dixie Monroe reviews the best of the best looks from the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremonies.

Espy_Awards_Fashion_Rundown_Bigfoot_570x300

Dixie grades the best and worst fashions of the 2012 ESPY Awards.

On July 11th, the most irrelevant night in all of sports occurred. That’s right kids! The ESPY awards! Lets be real here, does anyone really care about this? I’m going to be honest with you, I didn’t even know it happened until two days later. I know I’m supposed to cover events like this, because it’s my sports fashion blogger duty. But really, does Joan Rivers cover the Kid’s Choice Awards? No, because its irrelevant. Because an athlete’s worth is judged by championships and accomplishments on the playing field, and no athlete lists an ESPY award as a part of their accolades.

However, The ESPYs are all I got, and possibly the only sports related red carpet event. So here you go folks: the best, the worst, and the “eh so close” of the 2012 ESPY Awards.
